This stream explores how emerging technologies can be harnessed by youth for environmental and societal good, empowering youth to innovate with integrity and intention. E.g. CubeSat design and remote sensing automation and IoT, open-source environmental monitoring and AI based management, and NetZero systems research and implementations and more.
BlueCube-1 is a multiyear long project for a team of youth to design, engineer and build a CubeSat with a scientific payload to study animal and natural ecosystem behaviour from space. The first potential application will be to pilot the ability to study animal migration using relatively low cost Conventional Off The Shelf (COTS) components and a standardized open CubeSat platform.
To allow youth to build prototypes and PoCs to create viable NetZero living environments for the general public. Phases will start with ideation and analysis and proposal, and then to prototyping and PoC, then pilot and testing, with finalized implementation at the end.
